Progress Midterm

  1. Morning Harold,

You still seem to be playing with the form of the building rather than addressing the context or what functions go where within it. There is no indication of the qualities of internal spaces - you seem to give a lot of prominance to the ramp and track, with some offices dotted to one side and a pool. I don't really understand what your building is doing (other than having a form) - you really need to start upping the scale of your drawings and seeing how functions relate to each other, how the internal environment of your keys spaces will feel, etc...

  2. Harold-
I still find it hard to comment on this. As far as I can ascertain, there is no real progress to note. If you have gotten this far in your educational journey, you already know the steps to get you there. There is no reason to patronize you with the details of what you should be doing.

If I had to surmise, your roadblock is with the tool (computer) not with the process. Indulge a purist here. Get out of the "box." Design this in sketch model. You clearly have the chops to work in physical model form. For inspiration, look to Wes Jones or Craig Hodgetts models that are generative of some of their final work. Obviously Gehry still starts in the physical world. Morphosis and Neil Denari used to work in this way as well, look to their early work.

The a-contextual exploration in 3-D vacuum land is not getting you anywhere.
